Refer a friend: Share the Stories That Help Us Belong

Help Us Share the Stories That Matter

Some people don’t shout about their journeys - they just keep going. The pivots, the resilience, the quiet wins. If someone in your world inspires you (even if they’d never say it out loud), we’d love to meet them.

Nominate a friend and we’ll gently reach out. If they’re up for it, we’ll craft a thoughtful piece for our Notes from the Not There Yet blog - and sometimes, invite them onto the podcast to share their voice with the community.

How to nominate

Using the form below simply share the following info.

  • Your details: name + email (so we can update you).
  • Your friend’s details: name + best contact (email or Instagram).
  • Why them? A few lines about what you’ve learned from them or why their story matters now.
  • Any links (optional): portfolio, small business, social handle.

What happens after I submit?

  1. We read your nomination and send a kind, no-pressure note to your friend.
  2. If they’re open, we co-create a written story for the blog - honest, unpolished, human.
  3. Select guests also join our podcast for a deeper conversation.
  4. We share it back with you and the community, so their story can help someone else’s middle feel lighter.

Who should I nominate?

Think of the ones who:

  • Show up with grit, kindness, or creativity.
  • Taught you something you still think about.
  • Are in the thick of change - not “finished,” just becoming.
  • Would never call themselves a success story (yet).

We welcome all identities, backgrounds, and journeys. This is where the middle matters.

Why your nomination matters

Not There Yet exists to mirror real life in the messy middle. Your recommendation helps someone feel seen - and reminds the rest of us we’re not alone while we figure things out.

Real, honest journeys - career pivots, wellbeing, creativity, identity, grief, parenting, starting over, resilience, everyday joy. If it’s human and helpful, it belongs here.

Does my friend need to be a “public” person?
No. Some of our best stories come from people who’ve never shared publicly before.

Will you definitely feature my friend?
We can’t promise every submission will be published, but we read each one with care. If it’s not a fit right now, it may be later.

Is there a cost?
No - being featured is free.

What’s the time commitment for my friend?
Usually 60 minutes for a relaxed interview, plus a quick review of their draft before we publish.

Can I nominate more than one person?
Yes, absolutely.
